Our Real Life Story
J&H Apparel was built in the middle of real life.
I’m Ashley — a full-time mom, a work-from-home accountant, and somehow also the founder of a clothing brand. J&H are the initials of my two kids, James and Harper. Everything I do is for them — and this store is part of building something better for our family without taking away from the life we’re already living.
Motherhood shifts everything. Your priorities, your pace, your sense of who you are outside of everyone else’s needs. Somewhere between school drop-offs, work deadlines, laundry that never quite finishes, and a to-do list that never quite ends — it’s easy to lose sight of yourself. Not all at once. Just one “later” at a time.
I looked in my own closet one day and realized everything in it was athletic wear. And I don’t even work out.
That’s when I understood: I hadn’t just stopped buying for myself. I’d stopped believing I was worth the effort. And I knew I wasn’t the only one.
J&H exists because getting dressed shouldn’t feel hard, expensive, or invisible. It should feel like you — on a Tuesday, not just for a special occasion. Real clothes, real life, real fits that work from school pickup to dinner without an outfit change in between.
This isn’t about treating yourself. It’s about remembering yourself.
Because you’re still in there. I know her. There she is.
